I would call this a "popular" range cruise. The buffet was average, not inspired. The ship lacked a quiet room and the "coffee station" was often reduced to paper cups. I could not fault the staff, enthusiastic, courteous and keen. The Duoro river is quite short so not a lot of time is spent cruising, a lot of time is spent on the bus making visits. This we were aware of when booking. It is likely the best practical way to see the Duoro. At 105 passengers the company was good, pleasant and restrained. No raucus, noisy or stroppy characters and many repeat customers so Viking must be doing most things right. I would have liked the option to pay for a private transfer on disembarkation if only to gain an extra hour in bed. Some new silent earpieces would be a good investment. Not quite top of the range but pretty good cruise

French Balcony

Cabin C

The cabin air conditioning was not working well and when failed completely the air was musty. There is a need for more fresh air and a lot less recycled. The tour managers warned that the summer heat can be fierce thus the air con should be able to manage. The TV controller was a failure.
