Disappointing is the only way to describe this new ship, its layout is way behind the times and poor use of space. We were on board for 3 weeks and found the crew to be disinterested, not very energetic and there is a distinct lack of supervision.
The food is not good particularly the buffet where food is prepared elsewhere and left to serve yourself was not hot, bland and repetitive. The specialty restaurants are not worth the visit with the exception of the Crown Grille. The only good thing to say about the dining room is that the food is hot. There is no shopping to talk of on board. Drinks are outrageously expensive, particularly wine and buy by the glass serve is miniscule.
Don't bother with the Casino, it is only a place to make a donation.
Cabins are small but very good with comfortable beds.
A great port with fabulous restaurants
Outstanding city which is very clean and friendly. Great historical sites and beautiful food.
We shared a taxi/van with 6 others and is the way to go. Inexpensive and they are available just after you walk off the ship at the entrance.
A nice town to walk around and take in the sites, worthwhile.
Naples itself is not so good but don't miss Pompei, again a train takes you there. Just catch a bus to the train station and catch the train. Tickets are available at most small shope when you clear the ternibal. Just by well aware of the pickpockets, esspecially on the bus ride to the train. Tourist get robbed everyday. Isle of Capri is also outstanding and you can get a high speed boat from near the shipping terminal in Naples.
Fantastice place, don not miss the appathenon which is atop the Acropylis. The best way to get there is the tourist bus at the shipping terminal which runs continuously all day from the ship and comes every 20 minutes to half hour depending on the amount of ships in port. The cost is only a few Euro reurn each.
What a beautiful place, the view from the top will blow your mind. Try travelling up by donkey (5Euro) but I would come back down by skytrain.
Great place to visit but you do need time.. The desert safaris are a standout but time is the factor. The best wy to see Dubai is get a taxi to the nearest subway (not far and about $2.00) then go down the subway and buy a one day tourist pass but make sure you pay the little extra and get a gold ticket. That way you get the 1st class cabin and seat for only a couple of dollars extra. You can see everthing you want to see just read the tourist guide supplied with your ticket.
Toulon is a nice town with friendly locals.
What can you say about Rome? Fantastic place, not to be missed. There is a train station at the port which takes you straight into town,
