My wife and I took this cruise for her birthday and our 25th Anniversary. We splurged a little and got a Penthouse Suite (13520). We have cruised a number of times before on NCL and others, and have done Penthouse suites before, so we do have points of reference.

First, let me dispell the myth about the crew. They are cordial, helpful, polite, and friendly. We did not meet a rude crew member the entire week. Definitely on par with other cruises we have taken! They are a bit understaffed and less trained in the main dining room (huge turnover on nubie staff) and hence less attentive, but elsewhere great!! Our biggest tips went to members of the wait staff that went over and beyond for us!

The truth, our suite 13520 was the cat's meow! You are at the pool in your own private cabana! If you want a fun room and can spend the extra $$, this is the room for you. Because you are facing aft, you get a more picturesque view of the ports (versus the industrial view from the port or starboard cabins). Also, easy to see the lava flow on Tuesday night and 2x the view of the Na' Pali Coast on Friday! And our Cabin Steward Edwin - the best we have ever had! Personable, funny, efficient, timely.....simply great!! He was our top tip of the week! NCL, this guy is worth his weight in gold!

Cabin Review

Penthouse with Large Balcony

Cabin SE

Roomy, great balcony facing aft. Like having your own private cabana at the pool. Do bring some room spray for the lav as some not so aromatic fumes do back into the toilet area from two wierd floor sewer vents behind the toilet. Edwin (Cabin Steward) is great! Susana (supposed butler) and Chris (supposed concierge).....nuff said.
