Once we arrived in Nuremberg we were greeted at the airport by our transfer. Since we arrived in Nuremberg at 5:30 am we had a few hours to spare before we could board the ship. Our driver gave us a private tour of his city and took us to his favorite bratwurst stand and treated us to lunch. Once we arrived at the ship our room was waiting for us, it met all of our expectations and then some. Dining at 7 was not a problem for us nor did we feel rushed, we had plenty of time to enjoy our dinner and converse afterward. We also did not find the dining room noisy as others may have. If anything it was people meeting new friends from all over the world and having a great time together. Compared to the large cruise ships that get very noisy, I prefer the smaller ships any day. We did participate in some of the on board activities and enjoyed them very much. The rooms are very sound proof, we could not hear music or noise coming from any late entertainment, which I think the latest ended around 11 each evening, if that late. The off shore excursions and tours were all led by very knowledgeable tour guides and were not rushed. We had ample time to browse around or shop after touring each city. After a very nice, relaxing breakfast and a goodbye visit with our new friends we were timely transported to the Amsterdam airport. We went to Paris for a few days after our cruise, which was on a much faster pace. We were both wishing we had gone to Paris first then the cruise, it was so relaxing! The crew and staff of the Emerald Sun are all assets to this cruise line, they provided us with the best service around! Thank you all so very much for making our cruise the highlight of our trip to Europe!
The cabin was plenty large enough for the two of us, the balcony did seem to make it appear a little larger. The bathroom/shower was larger than I expected. We also had plenty of storage room, toiletries and extras if needed.
