We were incredibly lucky to get the opportunity to take this cruise with my Mom and step-Dad and our 2 kids (13 year-old girl/12 year-old boy) this past season. What an extraordinary trip!
Everything about Viking was top notch! Their customer service at every level and every interaction was amazing.
We ended up having a little bit of a rough start when our flight from San Francisco was cancelled the day before the trip. We had to leave 7 hours earlier than planned and my son got airsick on the way. EVERY item of clothing he was wearing was dirty including his warm jacket that he needed to wear all week. As soon as we checked in, I sent everything out to the on-board laundry afraid of the cost, but without an alternative. It ended up costing barely $30 and was neatly folded on our bed when we returned from dinner that night. We did not do the beverage package and I have to say I thought the prices for the drinks on board were quite reasonable.
We knew that the rooms were on the smaller side, but thought they were wonderful. With a max of 2 people in a room they work very well. No complaints. It was interesting having a window at water level. A really cool view of the world. It would have been too cold to be out on a balcony for most of our trip anyway.
