We stayed in a hotel three nights before boarding the ship.
Excellent itinerary. The ship slowed down as we passed the Kalauea volcano at night and the Napoli Coast Food serve was very slow but I was told by one of the Food Services officers that food services staff was short by 100 people. After two days, we ate at two specialty restaurants and the Aloha Cafe because service was slow in the Skyline Dining-room. We loved the East meets West restaurant. There was no casino of this ship which left a lot of room for people and it was smoke free. The was a spirit of Aloha on-board with the music and art. Everyone including both customers and staff would greet each other with an "Aloha" It was a very pleasant cruise. No one was anxious or uptight. The excursions were fantastic. Our luggage arrived early at our stateroom compared to other cruises on which we have sailed. Special kudos to Dawn Monaco of Shore Excursions who lent a pair of closed-toe shoes to my wife for the downhill bicycle ride.
We had to call maintenance to repair a drawer and I repaired a drain. However, the room was well maintained by house services.
