A friend and her husband wanted to take another RCC cruise and suggested my hubby and I along. So glad that we did!
We went out of Port Canaveral, which was easy, in part due to the Park and Cruise. Getting on and off the ship was a breeze. They have a great system.
Once on board we checked all our pre-arranged shows and dinners booked online. We then grabbed sandwiches at the Promenade Cafe and went to our room to drop off our carry-ons and get in swimwear. We watched our departure from our friend's balcony, as we had a Boardwalk balcony room. We will have an ocean balcony next cruise in November, as we liked the privacy. Our room was spacious and clean, thanks to Tamara, with plenty of storage for our 7 day cruise. Our room came with a soda package and dinner at Johnny Rockets, plus a rock-climbing session, none of which we used.
Our room was very clean and comfy, Tamara did a great job of keeping it nice for us. Plenty of room in the closets and cabinets for our 7 days worth of garments. Nice turn down service too.
The walk from the port to the ferry was hot and lengthy for those not in great shape, but so worth getting to the beach. The water was amazing.
We walked and shopped first, then took a bus tour for $10! It was great. It's a beautiful place, the fort is incredible with 18 ft. thick walls. I want to go back and take a longer tour next time.
I actually didn't love this island. The view of it is nice, but I expected sandy beaches and it was shell and rock, rough on the feet without swim shoes. The walk to the beach area was long for my husband and I in the heat. We went back the ship and had a great time in the pool.
