We chose this particular cruise based on itinerary, level of expected service and perceived value. We took a limo from Sea-tac to the ship. Since we arrived so early, had the driver take us around the town on the way to the pier. We were one of the first group of passengers on the ship and she was very beautiful. We went directly to our cabin and dropped off our carry-ons and proceeded to explore the ship and grab a bite to eat. Found the smoking section at the rear of the ship near the Sky View pool. I guess people who smoke aren't really expected to cruise any more as the area is small and smokers can't even light up until after the ship is done taking on fuel (basically the whole time in Seattle). There wasn't a lot to do that first night.

Sunday was a sea day, we had dinner that night in the Pinnacle Grill. Service was impeccable. Brought my own bottle of wine along for that particular night. Would be nice to know ahead of time what was on the menu in the main dining room as they had one of my favorite appetizers and entrees on the menu that night and never offered again during the cruise.

Monday, docked in Juneau and we took the whale watch/Mendenhall Glacier tour from Juneau Tours and Whale Watch. The Glacier was magnificent as the photos I had seen previous don't do it justice. We saw numerous whales both during the watch up close and off the ship, especially as we approached Victoria. Afterwards, went for a little walk along the waterfront and visited the numerous shops. Saw the Red Dog, very crowded, of course there had to be 3 other cruise ships in port that day. That night was the pub crawl that started just as we were leaving Juneau. This was the most fun I have ever had on a cruise ship with stops at 4 different bars on board. Afternoon tea each day at 3pm was great. Best was after Sitka as we were just getting back on board, got changed and just the right amount of appetizers to hold me over till dinner. Happy hour was also really good. Every day at 4 pm at designated bars, discounted second drink and wonderful appetizers. Sometimes I think the appetizers were more delicious than the dinners.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom

Cabin VD

We arrived to a very clean and well laid out stateroom, although it seemed kind of cramped to me. Really nice big screen tv on the wall facing the bed. Decent variety of movies, small variety of tv shows. The news channels were terrible. Only used room service once, not really enjoyable dining in the cabin.

Port Reviews

Seattle

Stayed at the Springhill Suites post-cruise. This room was HUGE. Could have fit at least 3 of my staterooms in here. Wonderful breakfast and complimentary local shuttle. Saw Pike Place Market and hat lunch overlooking the harbor at Harbor View. Went to Chihuly Garden and Glass as well as the MOPOP. Both were wonderful and well worth the visit to Seattle to see those alone.

Victoria

Walked along the beautiful waterfront and saw the Gatsby Mansion and Fisherman's Wharf. There were cute houseboats there.
