We chose the NCL Gem due to the port itinerary. We did not have high expectations for the ship, so no real issues. The staff was friendly and helpful. The ship is seems a little dated and tired. Food and restaurant selections were not as good as other ships that we have been on. Same for the entertainment, but we spent a lot of time in the ports, so this was not an issue.

Great time in Halifax. Catch the firing of the canon and changing of the guard at the Citadel. Noon everyday (11:00 ship's time). Eat on the water at Gahan's. Eat a Donair at Kenny K's. Brewery Tour of Alexander Keith's is a must for even casual beer fans.

Not a lot to see in St. John's. Industrial port city with cool old buildings. Good food at Britt's Pub. Stop by Picaroon's for a beer. Maritime brewery beer and good food at Cask and Kettle. People were very friendly.
