There were five of us in our group - my parents (60/70), my husband and myself, and our 8 year old son. We flew into and out of Vancouver immediately before and after our cruise so did not need a hotel and did not have time to tour the city. We reserved transfers through Celebrity and they went very smoothly. They did not have a coach when we arrived so they put us in taxis so we didn't have to wait. A heads up, the customs, boarding process was long and cumbersome compared to the other cruise we took - no issues, just very long.

The ship was clean but very dated. It definitely showed its age. There were few dining options. We never ate in the dining room, preferring the flexibility of the buffet. The food was only ok. There was little variety and few healthy options. There was also not enough seating for peak dining times at breakfast and lunch. You had to wander around a while to find a place to sit. There should be more spack for sitting given the limited options for dining during those times. We ate at two of the specialty restaurants - Qsine and Tuscan. Qsine was a small plate/family style dining. The food was unusual but good. I would not recommend it for the unadventurous. My father did not care for it. And I would not recommend it for children. Tuscan was mediocre. The food was only ok. The service was good. Not worth the price in my opinion. (A tip, if you book any specialty restaurants, I would not use the reservations line or table. The staff in the buffet does get credit if they book the restaurant for you. So if somone in the buffet is giving you excellent service and recommends a restaurant, do book through them so they get credit. We booked through Fabian in the buffet. He had excellent customer service.)

Cabins - We had neighboring balcony staterooms - 9171 and 9173. The location was great. Up one flight of stairs to the buffet. The rooms, like the rest of the ship, were very dated. The bed was comfortable and larger than the one we had when we were on another cruise line. There was closet space sufficient for two people, with the third in our room, space was very tight. I cannot say enough good things about our room attendant, Doreth. She was amazing and went the extra mile for us, getting us champange and water. Note there are no outlets in the bathroom which is a bit inconvenient. You have to use one of the two outlets by the balcony door. The rooms did get very dark at night which was good given the number of ours of daylight. And even though we were close to the elevators, there was not much noise.

Port Reviews

Icy Strait

This port was made for cruise ships. There is nothing much to see if you do not book an excursion.

Ketchikan

The walking tour of town was nice, but not amazing.
