We chose this cruise because of the wonderful itinerary and the ship (we had cruised on both the Regal and the Royal before and really like them). Eleven days is just about right for us and we enjoy a few sea days to catch our breath. We arrived in Copenhagen two days early and had a great time exploring that city with the help of a Copenhagen Card. We stayed near Tivoli Gardens which was centrally located.
We had received an upsell offer from Princess and were lucky to have a beautiful rear facing full suite. Our cabin attendant "Glenn" was great and always had a smile on his face. We did our research (Rick Steves) and explored all the ports on our own, with the exception of St. Petersburg, where we had arranged for a semi private tour (4 of us with a driver and guide).
Our on board experience was great with good local entertainment, great meals, etc. I even joined the "pop up" choir, which performed the last sea day.
We received an upsell offer from Princess and were lucky to have this lovely rear facing Owners Suite. There was plenty of room, since we had two rooms, separated by two large sets of closets. There was storage space everywhere, and even though we overpack, we didn't use half of it. The balcony was gigantic and had views not only to the rear of the ship but also looking forward on the port side of the ship. We had no trouble with soot or excessive movement. Glenn, our cabin steward, supplied us with pool towels and blankets for the balcony (since it was the Baltic, and a little cool). Being at the rear of the ship, we had a little extra walking to do and easily made our 10,000 steps most days!
