Chose this cruise for the intensive itinerary around the British Isles. Did not disappoint there - great destinations and scenery. Did all the excursions by booking online at reasonable costs. But did use Princess for the airport to Southampton and Southampton to London transfers. Very reasonable and well organized. We stayed in London 3 days after the cruise. Like many other reviewers, we found the breakfast food bland and boring, so we used our coffee card and ate in the International Cafe a lot of mornings. Sea days got up too late to eat in the dining room. Aside from the coffee which is horrible on most ships, I usually ate fruit, yogurt and a bagel, and the bacon was nice and crisp in the buffet. We ate at Sabatini's, Crown Grill, and Steamers for dinner. All were fine. I thought Steamers was very good for the money, but not many customers. Any ship that thinks BBQ is suitable on board is crazy. BBQ needs a pit and slow cooking which is impossible on a ship. I would have preferred an Asian sushi/sashimi noodle place. Did try the Pub lunch - OK but have had better. Also tried the hamburger/hot dog place - hamburger was OK but chili cheese fries were weird. Their chili was 4 kinds of beans in a meaty broth - we were shocked being from Texas. We chose anytime dining and could get right in if we were willing to share a table. We loved meeting all the different people at dinner and never had a bad experience.

Aside from the Beatlemania show, the entertainment was lacking. Most dancing is too late if you get up early for tours. Don't understand why good dance music is never played 7-10 pm and never any country/western music and I don't mean Line Dancing!!! Two stepping and line dancing are two entirely different things. But any dance music with just a little disco and rock thrown in would be OK as an alternative to the theater. Vines was always a nice place to drink Prosecco (cheap) and relax (never tried the tapas). The biggest rip-off was the wine tasting on sea day. We have been to many on different ships and this was the worst. Did not even get a 1 oz pour so after you sniffed, swirled and sipped, you had none left for the appetizers. Never asked if you wanted more - just a chintzy experience. For 6 wines, probably had equivilent of a 6 oz glass of wine for $25. Pathetic. On most ships, you get a 1 1/2 oz pour and always get to sample more if you like one. In fact, they usually put a bottle on the table at the end. We are not driving! Doubt if we will sail on Caribbean Princess again, but we do like several of the Princess ships. Booked an Australia/NZ cruise on Majestic Princess for next year.

Guernsey: walkable and nice. Ridiculous tender lines - fault of ship

Cabin Review

Mini-Suite with Balcony

Cabin MD

Cabin was good, not great. Did like new bed, but hate that only cover option is a duvet. Too hot. Steward did take away and put in a blanket which I could push aside. What happened to a top sheet and cotton blanket? You can't get the rooms cool enough for a duvet. Had good, new towels. Slider door was broken, but got fixed. Toilet did not flush sometimes but did not stop up. Adequate storage. Even with a tub, had a shower curtain instead of a glass door. Deck furniture was certainly not replaced. Did not do many upgrades in dry dock.
