We just got back from our Alaska cruise. Although the weather did not cooperate with us, we still had a good time. The only sunny day was at the Hubbard Glacier. I was glad because the sun reflecting off the glacier was awesome. It rained in Sitka and it poured in Ketchican. Our tour in Ketchican was cancelled. So, the only option there was to walk. I had never tried Dungeness Crab and this is my new fave. The Ship is very nice. We had a Verandah Suite and I have no complaints about the staff. The food was very good and varied. I am not a buffet person so we had our meals at the Restaurant. We ate at the Pinnacle Grill and it was worth it. We ran into some very rough seas on the way out of Ketchican and we arrived in Victoria about 7:30 p.m.. So, by the time we got on to the tour, it was late and we could hardly see anything because it was dark out. Victoria is quite a beautiful city and I wish we would have been able to spend more time there. We had the Tea at the Empress hotel and it is not worth it. Maybe if you are not going as a "tourist" package, it would have been nicer. It seems the sandwiches were done since very early in the day and were soggy. Every night we sat with a different group of people for dinner. I like this because you get to meet different people. This was really a great part of the tour. I won $937.00 at the Casino and my husband won a Poker Tournament. That came in handy because it paid for our onboard expenses and tours. I would go back in a heartbeat but I don't think I am ever going to be able to get the hubby back on a ship. That night out of Kethican was really rough. We were rolling back and forth on the beds. I don't get dizzy at all but I guess men are different...jejeje.
