Cabin: Ocean Suite

My husband and I took this cruise, just the 2 of us. It was a celebration for us. We splurged and got an Ocean Suite and thought it was worth every penny. It'll be hard to go back to a "regular" room! This was our 4th cruise, first on the Pride. Yes, the ship is a little older, but it was a great ship overall. We liked the size of the ship, not too big, not too crowded. Easy to navigate. Our room was on Deck 6, which was perfect. 3 floors up to the Lido Deck and 4 floors down to the dining room. We mostly took the stairs every where we went, we certainly got some decent exercise.

As I said, we got an Ocean Suite. Room 6163 on the Empress Deck. It was fabulous. So much space for 2 people. Our balcony was huge. The bathroom had double vanities and a Jacuzzi tub. There was also a separate dressing room area. We were definitely spoiled. Our room steward, Domingo, was wonderful. Always helpful and greeted us by name every time we saw him and he always had a smile. We spent a lot of time in our room and on the balcony because it was just a nice private retreat and had so much space.

We really enjoyed the dining room. We didn't miss a night. I enjoy being waited on and having a nice dining experience. Our wait staff, Wayan and Edi were great. The food was really good. I like to try new things and nothing disappointed. And my husband (a picky eater) found plenty to satisfy his hunger. Especially at dessert time. Oh, those chocolate melting cakes.,, We ate breakfast in the main dining room a few times as well. We ate at the buffet for lunch each day. Guys burgers were great as was the Blue Iguana. Great burritos! The husband loved the 24-hour ice cream. I loved the coffee bar. (Although that cost a little extra, it was still great!)

Ocean Suite

Cabin OS

We loved our room. Nothing negative to say about it. There was so much space for 2 people. We've had an inside room and an ocean view room before, but never a suite. So worth it. Also worth it for the Priority Embarkation and Debarkation, which comes with the suite. We also had a free load of laundry done for us.

The bed was extremely comfortable, the balcony was huge. It had 3 chairs, a lounge chair and a table. We loved having a private sunrise or sunset (depending on which way we were traveling.) We had room service deliver a carafe of coffee each morning, which was a great way to start the day, having coffee on the balcony in the fresh ocean air. It doesn't get any better than that.

The room came with a jacuzzi tub, but we never used it. We did like having a full-size tub though. And 2 sinks. The separate dressing room was an added bonus. And there was so much closet space. The fridge worked great too.

Highly recommend upgrading if you get a chance, it was so worth it.

Port Reviews

Baltimore

We got to Baltimore a day early. We stayed overnight in the Inner Harbor and had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Grand Turk

No need for an excursion here. The beaches are right off the port. We walked down to Jack's Shack for the day. The water and sand down there were much better than right off the boat, and it was a lot less crowded. Had a great day!

Half Moon Cay

We loved this stop. We had priority debarkation, so we were on the island pretty early. We got great seats on the beach, under a little shade. We rented inner tubes ($20 for the day, each). We also got a bucket of beer. We just relaxed in the water all day. It was perfect.

Freeport

We had booked the brewery excursion, but it was cancelled due to a holiday. We were very disappointed. We just hung around the cruise port, did some shopping. Tried to support the local economy. Then we found Senor Frogs where we got a bucket of beer and had a great time hanging out there. Made the best of the day, but still would have preferred to see some of the island and visit the Brewery.
