Cabin: Family Balcony

We are in our 50's and booked this trip only two and a half weeks out using sailaway fare so we had no free drinks or meals. We took advantage of the bidding process and upgraded to a balcony but at this time of year the Atlantic was still very cold and we spent less time on the balcony than usual.

Check in was easy enough and we boarded about 11:30 and dropped off stuff in out room. They do not even mention O'sheehans as a place to have lunch on embarkation but we found it open and not crowded like the buffet. In three visits we did not have a bad meal, fish and chips and chicken wings were always good.

We had dinner every night in the Veneitan and we could always find something to order. The food would be so much better if meats were not so over cooked., The best items of the week were Hake fillet, Salmon filet, sirloin steak, and veal over noodles. We had a different waiter each night and a couple were not very good but even they got the job done. We were never there over an hour and a half. Soups were excellent every night as were the deserts.

Cabin Review

Family Balcony

Cabin B3

Smallest balcony cabin We have ever had but I changed the layout around making a clear path to the balcony. You can only do this if you have twin bed selection. The dividers for the shower and toilet in the bath room really suck. You can't help but bang into them at night and wake everyone up. Cabin is on port side just foward of the aft elevators and easy to reach the Venetian and O'sheehans down on levels 7 and 8. Very poor sound proofing was evident in the cabins. You hear everything your neighbors are saying. Beds comfortable but not the sofa.

Port Reviews

Boston

We are just a 45 minute drive from the port. If you are visiting Boston to take your cruise there are many things to do and see in the area. Stay a couple of days there and enjoy our city.

King's Wharf

You can see the Dockyard in a couple of hours and the beach there is not very good as other reviews have stated. The new NCL ferry is a huge improovement to the Dockyard but there is no service on Sunday so if the weather is nice when you arrive in Bermuda on Sunday afternoon you should just go to Horseshoe beach or see the Dockyard.

St. George's

This end of Bermuda is great to explore or for dining and sampling the pubs. Tobacco bay beach was excellent and all of St Georges is very clean and easy to see on foot.
