This cruise choice was purely based on itinerary and price. We have sailed on this line seven times, and have taken 35+ cruises overall. We sailed on the Norwegian Escape prior to this cruise and absolutely loved that ship.
My cabin (mini suite balcony deck 11) was very nice, and my cabin steward was efficient. The only complaint would be the timing of cleaning. Some days he would clean the room by 9-10, and other days not until after 3-4:00. We try to vacate and give the steward some time to clean, but we can't stay out of the room all day. Not a big deal, though.
The food was average to below average in my opinion. I never expect cruise food to be amazing, but the main dining room, La Cucina, and Cagney's were just not as good as on other ships in this line. The service was poor (never even offering a cocktail before taking our food order) on many occasions. Le Bistro was excellent in every regard. Food in the other dining rooms was bland and just uninspired. The Cafe offered a nice selection of food, but as on many ships, was really crowded.
Liked the cabin, but the location on deck 11 and under the main deck would not be my choice again. Many times smokers just flicked their ashes off the side of the ship, landing on my face, food or beverage. Lots of screaming children on Deck 12 from very early on in the morning. I would pick a quieter deck next time.
