We loved Bermuda and really enjoyed the Naval Dockyard, the excursions, etc. Unfortunately more than half of the 8 people I traveled with got sick during and after the cruise. My boyfriend and I contracted a terrible head cold, sore throat and I had a stomach virus the night I got home with a fever, diarrhea, etc and it has still not gone away. Another person on the cruise with us was throwing up and sick for part of the trip as well (not from sea sickness or alcohol). My boyfriend's mom got E Coli and is currently in the hospital.
The Breakaway ship was beautiful, but there were just way too many people. It was difficult to find a spot on the top deck by the pool and it was too overcrowded. I wanted to relax and get some sun, but instead it was more like spring break with loud music and people drinking their faces off. The service was mediocre, but I just think the staff is overwhelmed with the amount of people and some of the guests are extremely rude! The food was cold at times and my stomach wasn't right after almost every meal. The drink and specialty dining packages are very misleading, not knowing we had to pay all of these extra hidden fees is a little disappointing, especially after paying a chunk of money to go on the cruise. I had several spa services done and spent over $600. The services were great, however, the staff was extremely pushy about me booking an additional service before I was even done with the first one. I had to tell the massage therapist that I was trying to relax and could he please tell me about the "deals" when the massage was over. The high pressure sales pitch is not necessary especially when people are spending a lot of money for over priced services and are trying to relax!!! I would love to return to Bermuda, but I will not be returning on an NCL cruise ship.
