We chose the Norwegian Getaway Baltic cruise from Copenhagen on June 3, 2017. Our embarkation experience could not have been better. We arrived at the cruise port in Copenhagen at about 10:30 and we were on the ship not long after 11 without being crowded at all. Once on the ship, it took a pretty good amount of time for the staterooms to be ready, but once they were, it was wonderful. We were in a family balcony cabin on deck 9, and it was incredible. Note that most of the balcony cabins on deck 9 have a partially obstructed view looking down because of the covering over the Waterfront deck on 8, but this did not bother us too much. We did not realize it until the end of the cruise, but there are very large drawers under the sofa that really add to the storage space in the room.

Dining

I would describe the overall dining experience as very good, and I am a fan of Freestyle dining, but it had its pros and cons. Pros: the buffet was always great and there was never a time where the entire buffet was closed except between midnight and 5:30 am even if it was just a small section open. I also loved the open air portion of the buffet and that it was never hard to find a table. There are also two bars in the buffet area if you want a drink. There was a different theme each night that corresponded to the port that we were in which I thought was a nice touch. We also tried all three of the included main dining rooms, which were the Tropicana Room, Taste, and Savor. We only went to the Tropicana Room once on the first night and It was not a good experience. There was loud music making it hard to talk, and the service was slow and the waitress was not very friendly. Also, there were small portions and the food was not that good. The next night, we tried Taste, which was better, but still was slow and the food was average. There were Two nights on the ship that we ate at Savor, which was by far our best main dining room experience. The service was quicker and the food was much better. The other included restaurant on the ship, O'Sheehans Irish pub was also a great place to grab a meal, and they are open 24 hours a day. Sometimes we had to wait a pretty long time, but I was a fan. The only specialty dining we did was the Illusionarium dinner show which I highly recommend. They served us Filet Mignon and shrimp, and the show was amazing. I would definitely recommend getting there about 15 to 20 minutes early because some of the tables do not have a very good view of the stage.
