My husband and I celebrated our 30th anniversary on this cruise. We arrived the day before and toured the Vatican through a pre-booked excursion. It was an informative tour but we were jet lagged and sleep deprived from the flight. The following day we started our cruise. The embarkation procedure ran smoothly and our luggage was delivered in a timely manner. The cabin was adequate in size for our needs. The dining experience in the Tides dining room was always a positive experience that we looked forward to at the end of the day. The room was cleaned promptly daily. The entertainment was lacking somewhat - we would have rather that the shows started earlier. We missed some shows because of the late starting times (10:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.) as we needed to rise early the next morning for early booked excursions.
We enjoyed the shore excursions but wished that more time on your own was included for shopping in ports. The possibility of missing the tender or returning to the ship was very real so we always took our passports along. The ship was delayed in departing in Santorini because of the high volume of cruisers who could not get through the long cable car lines in time. This is something that the ship cruise should have us aware of. It was a very stressful experience and we had to rush lunch and skipped shopping in this port because of this.
The excursion to Santorini on land and by sea was a good experience on the boat to see the Almalfi Coast. Again, there was little free time to shop, though.
The cabin was adequate. It was a little roomier than I remembered on the last cruise. It was clean and comfortable.
