Having cruised on Pacific Jewel 5 years ago this is, in large, a comparison. First time cruisers may have a different perception.

The Pantry offered a good mix of cuisines (Asian, Indian, Italian, fish, roasts, filled buns, etc), however the food was often only warm at best and although the serving staff were friendly, their command of English wasn't great and they were quite slow at serving the food). It was often difficult to see what food was on offer at each outlet due to people waiting in line so dining post-rush was usually much better. Also difficult to find seating during peak times.

The Waterfront Restaurant offered a variety of meals and had a selection of meals that were themed to specific countries each night. There were a few dishes (steak, etc) that were at an additional cost. We found the dinner service better than the breakfast service. The air conditioning in the Waterfront is really cold, needed a cardy or wrap on hand.

Cabin Review

We had an outside cabin on level 5, mid-ship. The bed was too hard for our liking and I found it quite cold at night as there wasn't enough weight in the bed coverings. Plenty of storage and the bathroom had everything needed with great water pressure. We utilised the hangers to dry clothes in the wardrobe. The laundry on level 5 was closed for most of our trip and the other laundry on level 10 was closed for a couple of days as well.
