This cruise is a fun, low-hassle, low-cost way to visit Havana. You could do it do it more cheaply by flying there directly and staying in a private home, but then you'd miss out on the good food and great party atmosphere on the ship. I'm not into the whole cruising scene, but this is really the best way to visit Havana until the local tourist infrastructure is up to the expectations of most travelers. It was really great to get back to a first world level of ambiance after a very long day of walking through the streets of Havana.

The party atmosphere onboard the ship is really great, bolstered by the free alcohol. I was expecting to see a lot of obnoxious, drunken revelers, but it wasn't like that at all. Everyone was really friendly and it was easy to strike up conversations wherever I went. I wish everyone was this friendly in my day-to-day life!
