Celebration for my cousin and my birthday. She lives in NC and I live in FL so Charleston was the choice. I would never take a cruise out of Charleston again. Very disorganized, took over 2 hrs to just park the car and get on board. My last Carnival cruise was in 1988 (I've been on 35 cruises since then, NCL, RCCL, Princess, Celebrity) and this cruise exceeded my expectations for the Carnival Line (we were on Sunshine). The staff could not be any more accomodating, always smiling and the word no was not in their vocabulary. The piano bar (Eden was the singer and player) was a ton of fun and to my surprise the food in the dining room was very good. One night we upgraded to the lobster ($20) and it was worth every penny. The lido marketplace was so so, but if you go into the Havana Bar (around the corner from Lido marketplace) they serve omelets (made to order) and they are delicious. There are always seats in Havana Bar with fantastic views, floor to ceiling windows. At lunch Havana Bar has a pasta bar on one end (made to order) and a Mongolian Wok on the other (delicious!!). The bartenders were attentive and always laughing and smiling. Great conversation too! Drink service in the Piano Bar was not great so we went to the bar to get drinks. Never a line and bartender was very friendly and accomodating. Drink service in the dining room was non existent. Disembarkation was easy and fast. The passengers were great, many from the South (NC,SC,Alabama,Tennessee, Georgia) and were all friendly and polite. Attire was also great except for the few usual ones that must not have a mirror in their cabin. We had a blast and will go on Carnival again. Great ladies trip, or mother daughter trip for fun. The Atrium had great music every night that was themed (60's, 70's, 80's each night different.
Very nice. Had fridge. Bathroom was large than expected (but not as large as other lines). Mary was our steward and she was very attentive and great!
