30+ cruises on various lines, second cruise on the Marina. We chose this cruise for the itinerary and were not disappointed. Great ports of call and plenty of time in port to explore the area. Ship: The ship was very clean and well maintained. Public areas are beautifully decorated. Embarkation and disembarking were very smooth. The ship is well laid out and is easy to get around. We never felt crowded on the ship. Food: Overall, we felt the food was not up to the same level as the first cruise but the food in the Polo Grill was much better than before. We never ate in the main dining room as several friends told us it was painfully slow. The food in Red Ginger and Polo Grill was excellent! The food in Toscana was good. Both the food quality and service was down in the Terrace Cafe with two exceptions. The service and food at the grilling station and the pasta station was always excellent. The selections available for salads was also down and one night there was no salad available at all. (we had to go the our room and order from room service) The food and service at the Waves cafe was also excellent. (outstanding burgers, Reuben and potato salad)The worst food experience was in the breakfasts delivered to our room. The eggs were some of the worst in over 30 cruises. We tried scrambled eggs and they were either runny or cooked to death. The omelets were thin and also overcooked. They looked more like folded crepes. One omelet I actually had to use a knife to saw through. We also received regular coffee about half the time despite ordering decaffeinated. The room service food ordered from the specialty restaurants was excellent Service: Food: As noted above, the service in the terrace cafe was definitely down. We noted that the service ranged from fair (lunch) to poor (dinner) on the starboard side and from very good (lunch) to good (dinner) on the port side. Twice on the starboard side we ended up changing tables for desert as our dirty dishes were never cleared. One manager (a tall Russian) was rude to my wife when she inquired about getting a salad in the terrace cafe. Service throughout the Terrace Cafe had previously been excellent. The only outstanding food service was by Wiford in the Polo Grill and by the cooks at the grill station in the Terrace Cafe. Bar: While we did not use bar service very much due to the ridiculous prices, we did find the bar staff to be friendly and helpful. Other Service: Our Butler and Room Steward were both excellent. They were friendly, helpful and very efficient. The security staff at the gangway were always very engaging and helpful.

Slipping but still a great ride

Cabin Review

Penthouse Suite
Cabin PH2 10025
The location was great. The room is large with a wonderful walk in closet. There is lots of storage space, however, I could do without the cabinet doors covering the drawers. (just one more thing for you neighbors to slam in the middle of the night). The bed was very comfortable as was the couch. They both appeared to be fairly new. The balcony had two comfortable chairs and a small table. The room was very clean, however there were a few stains on the carpet. The bathroom included both a shower and a tub/shower. It was very well maintained and very clean.
