We recently returned from the May 28th sailing of the Breakaway. This was our third time on this ship. We have also previously sailed Star (2x), Getaway, Jewel, Sun, Dawn, Epic and Gem. We had a minisuite on Deck 11.
While our third time on BA, it was our first time without the refuge of the Vibe or the Spa. As this was memorial day week, the crowds were felt everywhere. I can only imagine what the ship is like in summer months with 2000+ children.
Bermuda was as gorgeous as ever (this was our 4th time there). Both the America’s Cup and the Tall Ships were in Town this week. The island was very busy, but we were still able to get around easily and efficiently via the Bus and Ferry, as well as NCL’s ferry to St. George (the BoHengy II). This is a great service that they have added. While St. George doesn’t have much, it does get you to some beaches and if nothing else the ferry ride is enjoyable. Oddly, the info desk at the port was discouraging the purchase of bus and ferry passes and instead urging people to use taxis and a $7 per person one way shuttle to Horseshoe Bay. We took our chances with the bus and ferry and had no issues. First time visitors to the island may have been scared off by the info desk. I’m sure the locals are having difficulties getting around with all of the events on top of the cruise ships, but it is what it is.
Very nice. Can't beat the larger bathroom/shower.
easy platinum priority embarkation.
Our 4th time here, we did our own stuff including Horseshoe Bay, Ft. Scaur, St. George, and the Harbor Nights Festival (saw the Tall Ships).
