Cabin: Deluxe Ocean-View Verandah Stateroom
We travelled as a group of 6 - 3 couples. We chose this cruise because of the itinerary; none of us had cruised before with Holland America and reading the reviews prior to going we weren't expecting the ship to be the best.
The ship does need an upgrade inside, (which is happening in October 2017 when it goes into dry dock for 12 days), but it was still very comfortable and clean. While we were on-board there was a delivery of new deck chairs.
Embarkation was hassle free (however due to our flight we didn't board till 4pm) and our luggage was delivered very quickly - the quickest of any cruise we have done. Disembarkation at each port was also hassle free with no line ups. Final day disembarkation was also the best we have experienced on any cruise. The organisation was impeccable.

This was a great cabin at the rear of the ship. The Lido and Vista dining are also at the rear of the ship so a 2 deck walk down to Vista and an elevator ride up to Lido on deck 9. The elevators were never busy being at the rear of the ship. The Stateroom is at the end of the corridor so very quiet as well. Our friends were either side of us at 4173 and 4177. I will always ask for a rear cabin in the future.
