Our embarkation was very organized and smooth. We chose an early check-in time and it paid off. We waited about an 60-90 between check-in and boarding. The wait was comfortable. Carnival provided cold drinks and clean restrooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. We went directly to lunch on the Lido deck. We finished lunch and our cabin was ready. We ate in the dining room (Blush-upper) 3 of 7 nights because our dining time didn't always suit our schedule. Dining room service was excellent. The food was good. I'm a very picky eater and I always had options. We usually had lunch at one of the Lido Marketplace buffets. They were dependably good. Not exciting. But good. We didn't take advantage of as many entertainment opportunities as we're available. What we did do, we thoroughly enjoyed. Overall service exceeded expectations. My most serious negative is the cigarette smoke. Clearly marked, no smoking zones would have been appreciated, even in open areas of decks. The casino has some machines marked with a no-smoking symbol but the casino smoke is bad enough that I smelled it while enjoying a band in the nearby, Ocean Plaza area. One of the shining stars of our cruise was our cruise director, Schwartz. He was truly a joy and added value to our vacation. Love him! We took bus tours at Montego Bay and Grand Cayman. We explored the large, port area at Cozumel, independently. The bus tours were fine. The brands we saw on board ship were frequently the same brands we saw at shopping areas on shore during the excursions. The wait for debarkation was not particularly comfortable. We had a low luggage zone number so once the process started, it was okay for us. We plan to carry-on all luggage for our next cruise.

Loved everything except the cigarette smoke

Cabin Review

Balcony
Cabin 8G 11277
Our cabin was clean. It had plenty of closet/shelf/storage space. We were glad previous cruisers left several hangers. Cabin 11277 is at the end of the hallway, closest to the area which overlooks the party/pool area of the Lido deck. The balcony is partially visible to anyone standing in the corner of the open deck. We could hear noise from the Lido activities but we expected it and were not bothered (much) by it. We felt the proximity to so many activities and dining on deck 10, made the occasional noise worth it. I would choose that cabin again.
