We had never visited Scotland or Ireland so we booked this cruise because we wanted to experience these places. We arrived in Amsterdaman three days early, staying at the very well located Hotel Victoria and toured around a bit. Went to Zolendam and Zandam as well as the next to last day of Keukenhof. While much of the full beauty at Keukenhof had disappeared over the previous two months there was still many beautiful flowers to still enjoy.

The weather in Dover, Edinburgh and St Peters Port was delightful and we we able to leave our sweaters in the stateroom. Unfortunately, the inefficient tender operation by the ship crew caused us to lose almost a full day of touring in Edinburgh. Dublin was billed as a two day visit but the second day was only a morning stay. Not much time to get off and on and visit the countryside.

The warmth of the people of Invergorden and Greenock was a pleasure to encounter.

Cabin Review

Superior Ocean View Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin D1

Everything was functional in the cabin, but a little dated. The space was more than adequate for the two of us. Unfortunately we were the cabin closest to the Centrum which had a door that had to be closed from 930pm to 130am because of performances at night to keep the noise from disturbing the passengers. Unfortunately everyone who entered the hallway slammed the door as they passed. Hearing the music through the door might have been better.
