We chose this cruise for the itinerary. There were 5 ports after leaving San Juan....only one true sea day. We were busy everyday and exhausted in the evening, but did go to a couple of the comedy shows, that we did enjoy. Our embarkation couldn't have been any smoother. It was probably the easiest that we have ever gotten on board. I think the food, service, cleanliness, etc. was all about average to what we have had on our other Carnival cruises. I was a little afraid of what we were going to find with the Fascination due to some other reviews I read. I didn't find it as outdated and in as bad of shape as others had reviewed. It is a smaller ship and doesn't have all the same things as the other bigger ships. We had a great time as we were more about the ports than the size of our cabin. This was the first cruise where we were asked by the room steward if we wanted early service, late service, or both. I thought this was a little odd, but if we needed something else in the p.m. our steward (Gade) was always willing to help. We had a great time and I wouldn't hesitate to go on this ship again.

Cabin Review

Ocean View

Cabin 6D

This was the first time we went Oceanview instead of balcony. with so many ports, didn't think there would be much balcony time and I was right. I actually liked the layout of the beds in this room better than we have had in the balcony rooms. The beds were situated more like an "L" and so it wasn't like we were breathing on each other (we are a Mom and son(20) traveling). I think our bathroom had been updated, but it didn't have the large magnifying mirror on the wall (which I missed for applying makeup) and this was the first time there was no blowdryer in the room in all our 10 years of cruising (you can ask for one at Guest Services). This was a pretty convenient location as it is midship.

Port Reviews

St. Kitts (Port Zante)

We enjoyed this port, but since we had been here before, elected to just get off the ship and walk around for a little bit. I do feel that this port is one in which the people are a little more pushy about trying to get you do an activity instead of just letting you walk around and enjoy the beauty.
