My daughter and I choose the Magic because of its itinerary and the ship size and we were not disappointed.
Embarkation
The embarkation at Port Canaveral went very smoothly. We were on the boat within an hour of arrival. We explored the ship and found the BBQ place (Guys Pig & Anchor Smokehouse - deck 5 mid ship) for lunch. Try it out!!! It was very good and was not busy since almost everyone was eating on the Lido Deck.
We stayed in a large balcony L shaped room at the back of the boat. Unsure if it is the same size as a regular balcony or not but we liked it. It only had a chair and table (no couch) and the beds faced the windows. The balcony was really large. It had a lounger, three chairs and a small table.
The only complaints were that you could hear noises coming from the boat when we ported. Unsure if this is because we were in the back of the boat (first time being in this area) and that one of the light fixtures would vibrate. Also, the two beds needed to be pretty close together so that the bathroom door could open all of the way. I have attached pictures of the room.
Dominican Republic - Over the Ocean Zip line with Beach & Lunch
We first went to the dining room and was called for our excursion from there. By doing this it was very organized. We then boarded a large open-air safari truck. You drive on a dirt road for some time and it is very bumpy. We went on 4 zip lines, one over the ocean which was really fun. The guides were very good and friendly. We then had a lunch which was just ok. The beach was very clean and nice.
