We chose the cruise mainly for the destinations, which were just what we wanted; the timing was right and we thought we would try a bigger ship than previously. Also, very importantly, it sailed from Southampton.
We were upgraded, months earlier for a very small charge, to a mini-suite (of our choice) which we were very pleased with. Oodles of space, a friendly steward who kept it clean. We were also happy with the evening dining (we had traditional in the Botticelli). Some nights we went to the show, other times it was not our scene. The Explorers Lounge was where we wanted to be some nights for the entertainment but it was IMPOSSIBLE sometimes to get a seat. Why oh why do they do this - when other lounges were fairly empty. It does not make sense!
The excursions were expensive but we knew that before we booked so we had a choice. On the whole they were good, particularly the one to Florence. One of them though was a let down, I complained and got a partial refund. It was not the ship's fault but I doubt they will use that particular guide again.

We were upgraded to a mini-suite with balcony, which we loved, on Dolphin Deck midships. Loads of room. Clean and comfortable. Enough space to enjoy room service breakfast in comfort when setting off early and to sit and read.
