This was our (age 30/26) first cruise so needless to say that we were excited and enjoyed our trip with Celebrity. I cannot provide comparisons with other cruise lines but will provide our experience on Infinity. We had perfect weather in all ports and at hubbard - not a single drop of rain - we were prepared for rain because of the time of our trip - but we were lucky ! Ship: Infinity is a well maintained ship and public areas may show some wear (especially on carpets) but nothing that stands out. We saw HAL and RCCL ships on other ports and Infinity seemed better exteriorly. Embarkation: We flew in a night before and took a cab to the pier. We reached around 12/12:30 and promptly handed over large suitcase which was taken directly to our room. There was a bit of crowd to go through the scanner and get sea passes. However the whole process took about 30-40 min and went smoothly without any issues. We were in our room which by 1:15. Room: We had an inside cabin and found that the storage space was limited. There were shelves and cabinets to store clothes but we preferred not to unload everything. There was no space to put our carry on size bags except for the floor or sofa chair. Food (Opinions are related to vegetarian food only): ----------------------------------------------------- Dinning room: We had late seating and ate almost daily except the last day in dinning room. Expect chaos/delays on the first day of cruise because everyone wants to go to the dinning room and wants their food on time. We had requested for vegetarian food and contrary to what i read on the board there is no "separate" menu for vegetarian food. There is a single menu which contains vegetarian options for soup/salad/entrees and the menu changes every day. On the second day onwards we were offered Indian food which is not on the menu, so be sure to ask for it if you want Indian entrees. Service was very good - our waiters were excellent and fulfilled all our requests. They would sense if something was wrong and would offer to fix it before us telling them. I did not like the deserts in the dinning room compared to ones in buffet. Vibrations and sea motion could be felt very frequently in dinning area probably because of its location and/or our table location. Breakfast: Loved the waffles, french toast, pancakes, bagels..... Buffet: We ate our lunch daily at the buffet. Food in buffet was sub-par to what you would get at a fast food restaurant. We tried chinese stir fry, pasta, sandwich, pizza, burgers, ice-creams. Desert was something we liked very much at the buffet and enjoyed it daily - both of us have sweet tooth. Room service: We ordered room service once and it was delivered in about 30 mins. The food was good and suprisingly was different than what you would get in buffet/pool-side grill. We ordered veg. burger which was much better than in pool-side grill. Entertainment: -------------- Celebrity keeps you busy with activities through out the day. Here is what we attended: Brent: Amazing guy - lots of energy and knowledgeable. He makes the subject interesting by adding humor but at the same time grabbing your attention. Didnt miss any of his shows. Shows: Dance shows at celebrity theaters were ok. I liked "Celebrate the world" show more than others. I could see the efforts and practice dancers put in the show. Comedian: I liked the comedian - fresh jokes, didn't feel that I have heard this before. Magician: Magician was ok - same tricks. Excursion: ---------- Ketichan - we did misty fjord cruise thr' Allen Marine. Staff was good however I didnt feel that the tour was worth the time and money. The tour was 4 hours long but actual sightseeing was hardly 30 mins. Understand that nothing can be done about the travel time but would opt for something else if I have to do it again. Juneau - we did the helicopter ride with Coastal helicopters and was the highlight of our trip. Amazing views on the way and also on hurbert glacier. We took the MGT to mendenhall and walked to the water fall. We also saw bears there. Victoria - we did the butchart garden tour thr' grayline and took CVS bus to downtown and wondered around. Nice little town ! Disembarkation: We opted for express walk-off and were out of the pier within 30 mins. If you are taking a taxi don't hesitate to negotiate - we paid a flat rate to go to a Seattle suburb instead of meter rate both ways. Staff: ------ Celebrity staff is friendly and everyone greets you with a smile.
