I arrived a day earlier than the 'Richard With' departed from Bergen. The cruise was even more beautiful and much better than I had hoped. The scenery was breathtaking. I was lucky enough to be upgraded from an inside to an outside cabin. Gorgeous with the window. I travelled alone but never felt lonely. I had a lovely Australian lady at my table for dinner. I enjoyed just looking at the scenery and reading. I attended all the lectures etc. The food was delicious and plentiful. I love fish so the only meat I ate was at the dinner where it was a set menu with great food. The staff were so happy and helpful. Water, tea and coffee was supplied at all meals at no cost. My cabin was great. Basic but very clean and a heated bathroom floor where I managed to dry all my washing every night. I didn't do any excursions but just wandered any of the towns where we stayed for over 30 minutes. The ship only docked for 15 minutes at a lot of the towns but it was nice to watch the arrival and departure from the towns. Very beautiful. I cannot fault anything with the Hurtigruten cruise and would do it all again in a heart beat. Next time I would go a bit earlier (mid March) to try to capture the Northern Lights. Thanks Hurtigruten for a trip of a life time.
