We choose this cruise for two reasons, first because we love the Radiance and second because of the expanded 9 day itinerary to Alaska. We were not disappointed. Unfortunately the embarkation experience was a disaster - but NOT the fault of Royal Caribbean. There were three ships leaving Vancouver and it was complete and utter chaos for all three ships. RC handled their part very efficiently. We will think long and hard before we embark from Vancouver, BC again. We enjoy the Radiance size ship. The ship was full but none of the public areas were crowded. Our balcony cabin on the starboard side was on the part of the ship that extends over the ocean - what an unexpected bonus. We could see strait down into the ocean. At Icy Strait, there was a group of 8 humpback whales feeding up and down the side of the ship and dock area which we watched from our balcony for over an hour. The whales were literally 10 feet from the side of the ship. Our room was very nice, the food and service in the dining room was excellent. We went to the dinner theatre in the Giovanni's restaurant. We enjoyed the play and the food. We liked all of the ports. This was our 3rd cruise on the Radiance and or 5th trip to Alaska. We will definitely return on the Radiance. We booked the train from Seward to Anchorage and we were not disappointed. The train ride thru the mountains was very scenic, comfortable with food and drink service available.
Nice cabin. We always enjoy the balcony, especially in Alaska which has so much to see from the balcony.
