Destination: Western Caribbean
There was lots of port information provided within the boat. We decided not to book any tours in the boat as it was too expensive, instead we booked them at the ports. Below is what we did:
Day 2 Day at sea (fun)we got to know our boat.
Day 3 Grand Cayman: we booked a tour with a Spanish lady at the port, USD80.00. The tour was very nice and it included a swim with the sting rays. We also did some snorkeling (included)
Day 4 Roatan: We booked or own tour with the locals at the port, USD70.00. It included a drive around roatan and day at the beach at some some More resort. It included a welcome cocktail and long chair as well as use of the beach. The beach was very nice!
Day 5 Belize We did not book any tour here. Everything was expensive. Instead we just went for a walk around the port area. Checked out the flea market there (whatever those little shops were) I was looking for the beach but was told it was about 5 miles from there. Forget that. Went back to the boat and hit the pool.
Day 6 Cozumel Mexico We did our own tour here! rented a car with Avis car rental, USD70.00 with full insurance coverage. Went for a drive around the Island and took some pictures. After that, we decided to go to Playa Mia where we only pay USD6.00 each to use the resort amenities. Regular price is about 16.00 for this package but because of the car rental we received a discount of USD10.00 each. The beach was very nice, a little bit rocky but who cares. We also swim in its swimming pool and ride the pedal boats. Lots of fun for the 6.00. It also included the long chairs. Would definitely recommend this beach. There were lots of tourist coming in tour buses.
Day 7 Day at sea Hit the pool and enjoyed two buckets of bud beer. Very good day!
Day 8 Back to Miami port. Disembarkation was nice and smooth. We kept our luggage with us and carry it out that morning. The line ups moved quickly and going through customs was quick. Not a problem for us Canadians.
Final comments : This is my first cruise and loved it. Will definitely go again with Carnival. The service provided was excellent and the room was kept clean all the time. The shows were very nice and the bingo what can I say, fun! There are lots of things to do inside the ship for adults and children. My child is only 7 years old and had a blast. Enjoyed the Camp Carnival and all their activities. I miss the food! very delicious. Less
