Stayed in Rome for three days prior to cruise. Had a lovely time, husbands first trip to Rome. Booked a taxi online to take us to civitavechia which arrived on time at 11.15. Had expected long journey to the port but in fact it only took an hour. Taxi dropped us right outside the baggage tent, as we had to get our labels for suitcases from the porters. This was done immediately, cases taken off us and we walked into the embarkation tent. Process was very quick and we went on board in next to no time. Staff very efficient and friendly.
We had any time dining in the Opus dining room. We sat in the same area each night which enabled us to gain good rapport with waiting staff who were very friendly. Food was superb every night. Great choice every night, always well presented and hot!
Although we had a classic drinks package, noticed that prices of the better wines had been increased by a dollar which necessitated upgrading to the premier drinks package which although meant a increase in cost didn't affect us greatly as we had on board credit which we used.

Deluxe Ocean View with Verandah 1B
Great location just steps from the lifts on Aft side. However did not hear anything from the lifts at all. Heard music from entertainment just one evening. No noise at all, apart from usual neighbours slamming door or toilets flushing!
Adequate sized cabin, wardrobe had lots of hangers which was very good. Room to put suitcases under the bed. All in all lots of space to put everything away.
Bed was very comfortable.
Cabin steward (Rockie) kept the cabin very clean and bathroom well stocked.
Bath towels could be bit bigger but adequate.
