We cruised with my brother and wife for a short, easy get-away since we hadn't seen each other in awhile. The all-inclusive drinks package and easy flights to southern Florida made this an easy choice. Plus this was the only weekend cruise that didn't waste a day at NCL's private island, giving us Saturday in Grand Bahamas and Sunday in Nassau.,Of course, as the date approached, so did the threat of a hurricane! Luckily as it turned out, the storm stayed south near Cuba and the area between Miami and the Bahamas had glorious weather (minus some heavy chop during a snorkeling trip off Freeport).
Experiences aboard the sky were very favorable, minus a few un-mannered fellow passengers. However it's hard to blame the cruise staff if people can't manage their drink and act I appropriately in front of children. I guess I expect adults past college age to know their limits luckily most of the overindulgence was either late or confined to certain ship areas.
We boarded quickly - went right through the pier side formalities and into the waiting area where there was plenty of seating, fruit scented water if you got thirsty and sufficient power points so everyone could get their electronics charged. Everyone, passengers and staff, were laid back and no hassle.
Rear facing balcony was good - sufficient space for the time we spent in the room. It was slightly larger than my brother's oceanview on deck 10. The balcony had 2 loungers and a small table with a good sea view. The mattress was very comfortable -firm yet well padded, no squeaks or sagging. TV set worked well, not that we used it much, although the desk/dressing table was a bit small. Sofa was comfy, although we didn't extend it yo check it's sleep-worthiness.
Storage was more than adequate for our short trip, might have been a challenge with more people or clothes for a trip much longer than a week.
The bathroom was fine, very clean, at least visually since we aren't germophobes and did not do a germ count -lol! Sometimes ya gotta take thongs at face value! There was some bath fell/cleaner stuff provided but we brought our own. There was a retractable close line we were able to use to hang out swim wear, so that was handy......and the stuff actually dried!
Our cabin steward was excellent! He had the room spic and span every day while we were at breakfast, provided extra towels as requested AND left us wonderful towel art every day.
The only bad cabin-related thing that happened was the adjacent corner cabin (9275) flooded one night and some water leaked into our room so our carpet was a bit damp in the morning. Not sure what happened to those passengers as the room had the door open, furniture on the wall, with large fans drying out the carpet the rest of the cruise. We couldn't hear the fans in our room.
