15 friends and family were going. We had a great time. The drink pkg was def worth it for us, esp. when it went on sale for 35% off. Zip lining, aqua park and Dragon ride were great, also got those at a great price the week before the cruise. The only problem with Haiti is that you are bombarded with the locals trying to sell their wares. We really did want to buy things but so many of them coming at us that we just had to walk away, it is a shame because it is a turn off. If you are seen purchasing something from 1 stall you are surrounded to come to theirs because they have stuff too. It was a beautiful spot we stayed at Columbus Cove the whole time. Chairs were supplied and plenty of shade from the trees. We took our own blow up tubes to float lazily. The food was right there and good.
I enjoyed the entertainment on the ship, others in our group didn't. Spectra Cabaret is a must, saw the Gift and We Will Rock You which are the 2 shows the others didn't like. My grandson went to the teen club for some activities. We enjoyed breakfast in the Windjammer more then the Main Dining Room. While the Bionic bar was neat to see it was down a good portion of the time, and the last day it showed we visited it 30 times when we only went once. Lucky for the drink pkg or we would have had to go to Guest Services. With the small problem we had with our luggage they were readily helpful with reimbursement for the damage.
perfect view of the ocean and easy access to the elevators.
We took the transportation that was offered at the pier to Horseshoe Bay. The beach is gorgeous They are known for pink sand. The bus ride to the beach was $7 pp each way, to rent a chair or umbrella was very expensive though glad we had our own inflatable air loungers and blow up tubes to float in.
It was very hot at the port, but once we took the water taxi to the beaches and shopping area, it was cooler. We enjoyed the beach and did some shopping. Water taxi was a great value, with a coupon for $1 off making $6 for a Round trip as often as you wanted.
We took a cab to Isle Verde Beach, it was wonderful $23 for a family of 6 and the driver gave us some history on the ride, chair and umbrella rental were cheap too, we got some great food right at the hotel on the beach. He came back at an agreed upon time so we could do some speed shopping in Old San Juan, would have really liked alot more time in this port.
lots of fun and entertainment
2 hour drive from our house, it was chilly and rainy leaving from here, but the weather improved for the rest of the cruise.
