Sail Date: May 2017

We have been “Loyal to Royal” for nearly 20 years with a smattering of other cruise lines and I would like to give a factual review of this trip.

Firstly we picked a Bank Holiday sailing and forgot it was half term which meant the ship was at capacity with also 1500 children on board. The cruise had been primarily sold with a Drinks Package and these two factors together meant that we saw some really poor behavior. Had we avoided both, I think we would have had a different experience so my advice is to pick your dates carefully!

The first formal night at 8 pm we saw two seats pushed together in the Viking lounge to allow a toddler in pajamas to sleep whilst the parents carried on drinking. Other children were allowed to run around in the lounges and theaters and even dance on tables in the Royal promenade during the themed nights at 11pm plus. On the last night we had a cabin tannoy announcement at 3 am looking for a missing individual.
