My father has cruised with Oceania before and really favors the larger ships, the Riviera or the Marina. This was my first cruise with Oceania. There was a mix up in the beginning whenuor beds were not separated even though I had calledb and emailed the cruise line to request the twin bed configuration. Also, we were in B3 category rm 7033. There was an annoying amount of condenciation between the panes of glass in our veranda door. We quickly got past these issues. The ship, Riviera, is beautiful and the perfect size. The service was friendly and very competent. The buffet was interesting, with a great array of yummy choices. I like that the staff served you. We ate in all venues. We really enjoyed the Red Ginger. The Crispy Duck Salad and Miso Sea Bass are not to be missed. Also, in the Polo Grill, have the beef, any steak is excellent. I enjoyed Toscana but don't remember what I ate. I had the duck at Jacques and did not like it. There was 1200 or so guests on the ship but the only day it felt a little crowed was on the one sea day that we had. We ate all our meals in the Grand Dinning room that day, no crowds. In most ports we would tour until early afternoon and then enjoy the ship in the afternoon and evening. I cannot wait to cruise with Oceania again.

Cabin B3

And the beds and linens made you feel like "I deserve this".

Port Reviews

Monaco (Monte Carlo)

We were thwarted again. Due to the Grande Prix trials, we did not get to dock in Monaco. We went to a little town on the French Riviera called Villefranche sur le Mer. It was cozy, quaint and charming.

Marseille

Tram to Notre Dame de la Garde BAsilica. Beautiful cathedral and view of Marseille.

Barcelona

Barcelona is wonderful but overrun with tourists. We sometimes had to skip busses because they were too crowded. The Sagarda Familia cathedral was too crowded, so we stayed on the bus.
