This is my 3rd cruise with NCL and my first on a “Mega Ship”, also my first Transatlantic. My best friend and I planned this trip for nearly a year.

We flew to Miami on April 29th and stayed at Best Western Premier International Hotel and Suites. The hotel shuttle picked us up at the airport and then for a $30.00 each fee delivered us to the port the next day. The hotel was not in a great area but the hotel itself was clean and the staff friendly. We ate both dinner and breakfast in the onsite restaurant. The food was not really that good and the wait staff was distracted at best but was convenient.

The hotel in Copenhagen was fantastic! We stayed 3 days at the Ascots Apartments in Copenhagen City Center. Literally 3 minutes from the rain station. They have a secure room to leave your bags in until check in time and the staff are super nice and helpful answering all our crazy tourist questions. When the name says apartment it really is an apartment, one bedroom, dining room, living room, kitchen, and bath. Clean and nicely furnished. Breakfast was included in our reservation and the selection would rival most restaurants. And Copenhagen, I cannot say enough about this city. 3 days was not nearly enough to see everything. We saw castles, rode the ferry to Sweden, and ate our way across the country via train (the bakeries are everywhere!). Definitely purchase a 24 hour ticket at the train station and just go! The trains are not English friendly as far as signage but the maps are very easy to follow. I will return to this fantastic city and this hotel!

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin BD

The cabin was clean and nicely decorated. The balcony was small but enough room for both my friend and I to sit on and enjoy. I have read many reviews of passengers stating that the storage was inadequate, I found that completely untrue. The closet is small but adequate for 2 women to hang our dresses and jackets. There is storage above the closet, and to the right, an entire (length of the closet top to bottom) row of shelves, 5 I believe. There was 2 large drawers under the sofa and then 2 different areas with shelves under the TV and beside the mini fridge. Far more storage than in any hotel room.

Our cabin steward, Joenex, came by and introduced himself and then went to locate our one bag that was not yet at our cabin. He returned with the bag in less than 5 minutes and called us by name. He did a fantastic job keeping our cabin clean and orderly and never missed an opportunity to greet us by name. We had several great conversations about his country (Philippines) where I had spent 4 years in the 80’s.

Port Reviews

Miami

We flew into Miami on Saturday evening took the shuttle to the hotel (see review above) and stayed there until the shuttle took us to the pier.
