This was my 4th cruise. I'd never cruised norwegian before. I've cruised with Carnival before to the caribbean. This time I cruised with my husband and 7 y.o. child.
First the best...Alaska was beautiful. It rained every single day we were there which made visibility poor at times. But it was still awesome. Alaska is a great destination and I would recommend it to anybody. It's beautiful and has an awesomeness I never have seen or felt before. The water is aqua blue colored. The mountains are gorgeous. There's so much to see.
The ship, the pearl, was beautiful and very clean. The cabins were small as would be expected but they're nice. We liked the layout. Fairly simple to get around. We absolutely loved the fact the pool on the lido deck was heated. My son enjoyed swimming in it even though it was 50 degrees out and raining. The pool got a lot of use. The Spinnaker lounge was great. The large windows were excellent for enjoyable viewing. This was one of our favorite places to go. The bowling alley was neat. It was hard to get the ball to go straight however. It was very fun and was very busy most of the time. The theater was small and had stadium type seating which I wasn't real impressed with. There was a small card room for playing cards. This was a neat idea I thought and also got a lot of use. Keep in mind, it rained 6/7 days of our cruise. The positives end here.
Cabin was fine. It wasn't very big but that's okay. It was clean. It had one bunk bed that we pulled out from the wall. We could hear the rumble of the ship motor but other it didn't bother us. It kind of lulled me to sleep actually. It was quiet otherwise. It was mid ship which was a good location.
