This was my first cruise and overall it was a great experience. For the most part, there were no issues getting on and off the ship at the ports, although there was a 45 minute delay at Harvest Caye, apparently due to clearance issues at the island, which was odd considering Norwegian built the island! Fortunately, they did extend our time on the island to make up for it. All of the locations were amazing and we loved all of our shore excursions. The ship was beautiful with tons of stuff to do. We had one rainy day while at sea, so we got to check out all of the shopping and the casino. We loved the food at all of the included restaurants and there were lots of bars to choose from. Two of us opted for a cabin with a balcony and it was really nice. It felt pretty large. The other two had an internal cabin. I would not have wanted that, but it was not quite as tiny as I was expecting. The pool area was really nice and even my 64 year old mom enjoyed the water slide! My only large complaint is regarding the music on the pool deck. They basically turn the whole area into a night club every afternoon/evening. The music is so loud that you need to shout to hear people talking. Even if you move far away from the adult pool, you can hear the loud music basically anywhere up top. It pretty much ruined my last day on the ship at sea. I was hoping to just relax and read a book, but after about noon they cranked the music way up. I get that some people like that, and I did enjoy some of the music when it was play at a reasonable volume earlier in the day, but if you want a night club, have a night club. Don't subject everyone just trying to have a good time by the pool to it. I definitely want to cruise again, but I might do a little more research next time.

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

The cabin was large than I expected. I didn't feel cramped at all. There was plenty of storage for two and overall it was very functional. Loved the balcony.

Port Reviews

Miami

We arrived in Miami late the night before and left straight for the airport on our return, so did not do any excursions there, but it sure looked beautiful. We passed right by south beach on our way out of the port and I sure wished we had time to go there.

Harvest Caye

Harvest Caye was a beautiful island. It was quite a walk down the pier to the island, but they had vehicles running back and forth for those who wanted them. We found that the beach lacked shade (there are some palm trees, but they just didn't provide much shade). There were canopies to rent, but we instead opted to spend our day at the pool. There's plenty of shade there and the pool itself was the largest I have ever seen. We spent basically the whole day in the water, although we did go back down to the beach later in the day when it was not as hot. It was also fun to watch people zip line right down the beach. Harvest Caye also featured a cute little "town" area with shops. We didn't try any of them, but there did also appear to be a lot of water activities. The food was not included here, but you could use your room card for everything.
