We live a couple hour drive from Seattle so we did not have to fly in. We parked in the parking garage directly across from the pier that Norwegian docks at, Republic Parking Northwest. After you park they parking staff will load up your luggage at your car in their minivan and take you directly curb side to the terminal. At the terminal to the far right of the building is the porters. You can drop off your luggage as long as you have your NCL luggage tag attached. Then proceed down the block to the left of the porter station to enter the NCL terminal station. Have all your cruise documents and passports in hand! Makes the line go quickly. Proceed forward to go upstairs to the waiting areas. If you have a suite go to the right for your VIP check-in. After your finish the VIP check-in you will be escorted directly to your cabin by a crew member. This process went smoothly. Our penthouse balcony cabin was wonderful. It was myself, my husband and our 13 year old son. It was very roomy and we never felt cramped. The balcony is quite large with two full size lounge chairs which we actually go to use because we had unusually sunny, warm weather for Alaska in May. The bathroom is set-up very well with a roomy size tub/shower and a separate toilet area. We had plenty of storage for all our clothes etc. The bed was very comfortable. There is a curtain that goes completely around the bed to provide privacy is you need it. Our son slept on the pull out sofa and he said it was fine. Our cabin steward, Jonathan was wonderful and kept our cabin very tidy. Not easy with a 13 year old boy around! The butler, Bencar, was a gem. He was prompt in addressing requests and was thoughtful to bring our son a bowl of M&Ms or gummy bears for a treat. He also brought us daily snacks. We had certain preferences for our snacks and Bencar made sure we had what we wanted. Bencar was also very prompt in bringing food we ordered from room service through him. We appreciated being able to eat breakfast and lunch in Moderno and avoid going to the buffet. The food was very good along with the service. For dinner we ate at Indigo and O'Sheehan's. We especially liked Shakers Bar for cocktails. We participated in some of the trivia games, bingo, etc but did not go to any evening entertainment in the theater. We did not use the spa or fitness center so I cannot comment on those. Our son did not participate in any of the teen program activities. He did use the climbing wall and enjoyed that. The climbing wall was very popular with all ages. The hot tubs are nice and also very popular. We enjoyed all of the ports of call. If you are interested in visiting Alaska this is a great itinerary. We did the Easy Walk-Off to disembark. We met with our concierge at an appointed area and we were walked directly to the check-out and did not have to wait in line. If you can handle your luggage without assistance I recommend using this option. All of the staff we interacted with were wonderful and made you feel like a valued guest. NCL does a great job with customer service. I highly recommend this cruise.

We did the bus and train adventure. It was a great tour. My husband and 13 year old son said this was the highlight of the trip. Highly recommended. Great way to spend the day in Skagway.
