My husband and I were eagerly anticipating HAL's newest Pinnacle class ship, and we were thoroughly impressed with most everything on Koningsdam! I am disabled and always bring my wheelchair, and our handicap accessible cabin was perfect! The batroom was huge, loved the folding bench in the wonderful shower! Embarkation/disembarkation went smoothly, and I never felt crowded moving around the ship. Dining was great at the Lido Market, except the signs on counters too small to easily read. Hand washing stations are brilliant, I used them every day! The main draw for me was the Culinary Arts classes, I took all three that were offered! We got a pen, notepad, and HAL apron with each class. Our instructor Alexa was awesome, very fun to work with! Room Service was petty quick each night, always faster than the time promised. I liked most of our ports, especially Half Moon Cay, (did Calypso Island Tram), and Bonaire (did Marine Park snorkel), loved the excursions there! I was never bored, as I mostly want to chill out on HAL anyway, and I loved the peaceful atmosphere onboard. At night, Koningsdam was rockin' with B.B. King's Blues Club and Billboard, also I actually heard dance party music one night while checking out the Sea View pool area! The shows at World Stage were incredible, loved the 360 degree screen! One thing I did was buy the pass to use the Greenhouse Spa therapy pool each evening, and it was soooooooo worth it!! It became my personal retreat after the show at World Stage. I loved the Lido poolside movies, very cozy area at night. We really enjoyed the Cruise Director, Carson, he was always around and very friendly. I went to a breakfast event with him one morning and he stayed afterward to talk to me. The captain of Koningsdam , Emiel DeVries, was the most gracious and friendly person that I have ever seen! He really made it a wonderful cruise! I definately will go on Koningsdam again!
