My DH and I chose this cruise for several reasons one I am from the Bahamas and was very interested in seeing the rest of the Caribbean. Two I was excited that there were so many ports visited on this itinerary. I have been as far south as Trinidad and Tobago but had never had an opportunity to visit the rest of the West Indies. First things first I found both embarkation and disembarkation to go very smooth. A few hints if you are interested in purchasing alcohol do so before embarkation onto the ship. There are several brands that cannot be purchased in the United States which means if you are waiting until you get back to Puerto Rico you may miss out. Also during disembarkation just pay for the porters they will help you track down your luggage and fast track you through customs. We paid $10 and were out of the area in less than 10 minutes.

The Ship Review - I really enjoyed the ships size and maneuverability, you can get almost anywhere with a brisk walk if the elevators are busy. The ship is very nice considering its age but there are some areas of note where housekeeping could be better out by the Solarium pool could be cleaner and all of the ladies restrooms should be maintained better. Other than that I thought it was a pretty ship with a good layout and traffic flow. I never felt cramped or crowded.

Cabin - I know that the ship has been renovated and most areas look really nice. But the rooms have not been updated and that is just a fact. I think the carpet was new because it looked new and didn't have any odor. My room was a balcony on the six floor. For two of us the room was spacious and we were able to put everything away nice and tidy. Also there is plenty of closet space for all you clothes. We had a really large suitcase that fit under the bed no problem. Our cabin was mostly clean, the bathroom shower stall needed a good scrubbing in my opinion as I was able to wipe some mildew off the shower door with a facecloth. Also the fridge was not cleaned out prior to our arrival. I should have mentioned it to our room steward but I was caught in the day’s activities and failed to do so. The bed to me was very firm but after the second night it didn't matter since I like sleeping on boats.

St. Maarten

This was a beach stop for us as it was Mothers Day - My recommendation head to beach book a chair with and umbrella have a few drinks, eat lunch and enjoy the scenario.
