This was a family adventure with 9 people including 3 children 5 and under. The only draw back was the check in process. We arrived on the earliest Royal Caribbean provided transfer from IAH, we were all gold or higher crown and anchor member's and it took us 2+ hours to get checked in. The sad part is we were mostly in reasonable length lines but the process was inefficient with every passenger filtering through 1 person checking documents and assigning x-ray scanners.

That aside the cruise was a lot of fun. The ship lay out was nice and provided ample activities for everyone in the family. We enjoyed the pleasant staff and character interaction with the kids. The character breakfast was a great activity with the kids. I discovered that scuba diving in Jamaica is actually worth the effort and time. I would recommend this ship and Royal Caribbean Cruises.

Cabin Review

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

The cabin square footage was about average, however the layout and the little things our cabin attendant did with tables and stuff made it feel the largest of any we've had. The cabin and balcony was very nice.

Port Reviews

Cozumel

We took a taxi (van) from the port to Paradise Beach. The facilities are really nice and they have plenty of staff to make the experience enjoyable. The water at the beach was pretty muddled and unattractive, however further out and other nearby beaches didn't seem to be encountering this problem. We've been to Cozumel numerous times and this area as well and have never experienced this problem, so hopefully it was a fluke. The pool is fantastic (diaper children are not allowed in the pool) and provides a wonderful option away from the sand. We enjoyed the day.

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

I booked my own scuba diving because the ship didn't seem to provide what I wanted. The diving was nice but I only rated the experience as average because winds and surf caused the dive I booked (Kittiwake) to be cancelled. Divers Down did provide two nice reef dives instead. The only fault I would have that was in their control was the lack of water on the boat and I'm also used to some type of snack during the break between dives. That being said the dive masters were very professional and friendly.

Falmouth

I had to schedule my own scuba diving because Royal Caribbean didn't provide this option. I used Jamaica Scuba Divers and was very pleased. Most of what I could find about diving in Jamaica said it was mediocre at best. However my experience was totally different. Again weather and winds kept us fairly shallow but the wall and reef were colorful, and relaxing. We did our interval time back at the resort that Jamaica Scuba Divers operate out of, the only problem being there was no water or snacks available. I would recommend this outfit and taking the effort to dive in Jamaica.
