My wife along with our niece/ Goddaughter cruised on Liberty May 21st, Cozumel, Grand Cayman, Falmouth, Jamaica. We are loyal Royal Caribbean Cruisers and honestly have never had a bad experience with any of them. This is a pretty lengthy review so I am going to attempt to break it into categories.

Cruise terminal embarkation: No problems here, we always get a porter to take our big bags so we only have to wrestle with carry on luggage. It probably took us a total of 15 minutes from the time we got into the terminal to get our Sea Passes and get on board. While the cruise terminal is showing some age, it serves it's purpose, which is to get folks in, checked in and in board.

Cabin: we were in a Junior Suite, deck 10 number 1406 which is at the stern. This is a really nice size suite with a huge balcony. Balcony is big enough for two loungers, two chairs and a table. Probably twice to three times the size of the Starboard and port suite balconies. Even with three adults in the room, we had plenty of room to move around and more than enough storage space for everyone. Our 20 year old niece slept on the sleeper sofa and even leaving it out the entire cruise, we never felt crowded. Also I have to give kudos to Howard our cabin attendant. He was great, always a big smile, very helpful

Junior Suite

Cabin JS

we were in cabin 1406 on deck 10. 1406 is one of two aft facing junior suites, the other next door is 1706. These are big cabins, lots of room, king size bed plus a queen size sleeper sofa as well as a chair and ottoman. Lots of storage space and a big closet. If you fill up all the available storage spaces, you probably packed way too much !! There were three adults in our cabin, and we had plenty of space and room to move around. Bathroom has a full size tub with shower. Lots of light and storage for all the girls cosmetics!!

The balcony is huge compared to the port and starboard junior suites. Room for two lounge chairs, two chairs and a table. and even with that much furniture it wasn't crowded.

There are a couple of minus to these aft facing suites. First, you can see where you have been, but not where you are going. Not really a big deal to us, as we appreciated the space more than the orientation. The second minus is the lack of any breeze. Unless the wind is blowing toward the stern of the ship at a rate greater than the forward speed, you aren't going to have any breeze at all. Because of this, the balcony is hot. Even late at night it's warm. So If you are one that envisions sitting on the balcony sipping a cool drink or a glass of wine while watching the sun set, you might want to think twice about booking one of the aft suites. If you like a lot of space and don't want to pay the price of an owners suite, grand suite or Royal suite, then this one has a lot of bang for the buck.

Port Reviews

Grand Cayman (Georgetown)

We cancelled because of rough seas. The guy running the concession where we checked in was rude, and wouldn't believe me when I told him that he had not returned my tickets. Whomever owns that company needs to send that guy packing!! Ended up doing a private tour to the public beach on Seven mile beach. Beautiful water, the best on the whole trip, but the wind was fierce!! We were glad we didn't take the boat ride with the high wind.
