Cabin: Junior Suite with Balcony

Hubby chose this cruise as it was our 2nd wedding anniversary. We booked about six months out in a junior suite, port side, #9236. We traveled without children. Our statement room attendant, Darna, was the best we've ever had out of ten cruises. Friendly, attentive, and she had a wonderful sense of humor. Our room was spotless.

I've read some of the other reviews posted here about the Allure regarding food selections and waiting time in the MDR, that there was not a good food selection and the wait time was too long. I had neither of these complaints. The food selection was excellent, and even if it was not, if you ask, they will generally get you whatever you'd like, even if it's not on the menu. I've experienced this firsthand on other RC ships. As far as any lengthy wait time, we experience none of this on Allure.

The lines for getting into the MDR were long, but only during peak meal times. If you book at 6:00pm, expect there to be a line. We did experience that, but the lines always moved quickly. There are two lines, one for reservations and one for guests who did not book reservations. It's easy and quick to book reservations, so my advice is take 5 minutes and make a reservation. You can call from your cabin, stop by the Main Dining Room. There is a sign at the door which line you should be in when you get to the MDR. Reservations and those with suites to the left, all others to the right.

Cabin Review

Junior Suite with Balcony

Cabin JS

Spacious cabin, it was the first time we'd booked any cabin larger than a Superior Balcony. I fell in love the second I saw the walk-in closet. Lots of space for hanging clothes, with an ample amount of hangers, and tons of space to stack clothing. The cabin had plenty of drawers and a large wall "pantry" (for lack of a better term) that held the safe as well. I was able to put all my purchases in this pantry...no need taking up space in drawers or even in the closet. An extra large vanity; a mini fridge; couch, chair, and cocktail table; king size bed; two night stands; huge balcony with seating for four plus a table; and a bath tub! I was very pleased with our room. Cabin attendant was excellent. Absolutely no complaints about our cabin whatsoever. However, if you like to have a cabin that faces the port, don't choose this one for itineraries that stop in Jamaica, Labadee and Cozumel. We were on the ocean side every time we ported.
