My only complaints were the entertainment... which I thought was very poor, and the activities. Our room and room steward were amazing... excellent! The food was fantastic... especially in Cagney's and in the Summer Palace. Danijel (Asst. Maitre'd there) made sure the food and service were perfect. We normally do not eat in the Summer Palace, but ate there quite a bit because of his attention to even the slightest details. Any problem was handled quickly and efficiently. We tried the Buffet at the Garden Café, but were not impressed. La Cucina (the Italian Restaurant) was also very good. The itinerary for this cruise was excellent. Glacier Bay and Skagway were awesome !!! Glacier Bay has the ice calving... wow! Skagway is an interesting town to walk around in... or take the train to the Yukon. The train here is one of my 2 favorite NCL excursions (the other is Tastes and Horses in the Azores)...., and is worth the price. We had an unusually large number of small children this trip. If you want fewer children try the repositioning... or any longer cruise, and avoid summer months and spring break time. This ship was recently refurbished, and our cabin had new carpet and new furniture.
If you are thinking of taking an Alaska Cruise... I would definitely recommend the Pearl. It is a happy ship---- the crew like being here! Make sure your Alaska cruise includes Glacier Bay... Skagway.. and (if possible) Icy Strait Point (I always see whales there).
Excellent... handicapped cabin. Very spacious. GREAT views from your cabin. A balcony is wonderful to have for an Alaskan cruise.
