I wanted to have good safe travel to see a lot of places in the shortest time span and enjoy entertainment provided in the evenings to pass the time . My previous experience on a sister ship provided excellent food and I looked forward to a similar experience. This cruise catered very much for a particular group of people which was very noticeable to me compared with the previous ship I sailed with. The cabin crew were good and desert and the room was kept clean. The entertainment was average and repetitive at times and may be the reason it was not well attended. Shore excursions were not relayed with total honesty on alternative transport arrangements which was not looking after the customers best interests. We paid 4 times the money we needed to for the same tour with the royal car ribbed ship. Embarkation was a bit slow which denied us the time to look around Barcelona.

Port Reviews

Marseille

We could have taken a free bus or bought a ticket for the open top bus at the end of the docks if we had been advised. We therefore paid $23 to the ship company unnecessarily.

Villefranche

We found out from a member of staff that there was a train station close to the ship therefore we did not buy ships excursion package

Florence (Livorno)

A private company set up shop at terminal and we bought cheaper tickets from them.

Naples

We paid $100 for this tour which was a total rip off. You can walk off ship and across the dock to buy a ticket $18 for the boat to capri island. Tickets for bus or tram cost €1.80 each way. So there was no need to pay a shore excursion at all.
